Yes,
I know that I haven’t written much about the new season of Curse of Oak Island… probably because there isn’t much that is new.
They are still chasing that iron cross they believe was created and then
dropped by the Knights Templar. Sure, they have an analysis that suggests it
was made from iron mined in the Middle Ages but that doesn’t mean that it was
dropped on Oak Island at that time.
We
have them using seismic detonations to determine what is hidden below the
surface of the island. They found a void that seemed to be in the place that a
deeply buried underground vault had been located by earlier researchers. Turned
out that it was a place filled with sand as opposed to the harder ground around
it. There was no vault there.
They’ve
installed a coffer dam so that they can dig up a beach looking for proof of the
booby trap system created to protect their nonexistent (yes, I said it)
treasure. The beach may, in fact, be something of an artificial construct but I
think it was to facilitate the repair of British ships in the 18th
century and not a clever way to protect a treasure.
Of
course, we see that the metallic wall erected to protect the beach is now
leaking… not badly, but leaking none-the-less. When the Laginas called the
company that erected it, it seemed that their solution was some sort of silicon
gel that the Laginas had to apply. I’m wondering why the company didn’t want to
get it right the first time, especially when the problem was being broadcast to
what is basically an international audience.
I
could go on in this vein, but what’s the point. The problems might be new but
the solutions are the same. They might be finding more “treasure” on the
surface of the island, but it is more like the debris you would find in any
area that had been inhabited for hundreds of years. Random losses and not some
kind of hidden wealth.
As
I have said, I have been interested in Oak Island for decades. I first learned
about it in a book I bought in the 1960s. I have followed the expeditions and
commentary on it in other books, in magazine articles and television documentaries.
I applaud the Laginas for their attempts to find the treasure, but when you
bring in a rock that has been squared and used in a leather tanning
process
that smoothed it out, only to claim this is THE
stone tablet found centuries ago, I lose my patience. Are we really to believe
that this stone, that has no writing on it, once held the clue that treasure
was hidden below?
Joy Steele... Oak Island Researcher. |
I
had hoped they would find treasure. I believe they have solved the mystery. The
answer does not involve treasure but a very different history that has been exploited
for profit for a couple of hundred years. I think Joy Steele is closer to the answer
than a claim of pirate treasure. I don’t think the Knights Templar were
involved. I think it was a repair facility created in the 18th century.
I’m sorry to say that because I really would have rather seen a huge treasure
found, even if I don’t get any of it. That would be exciting. Instead we have
Al Capone’s Vault (don’t get the reference? Google it.)

The big news here is that they just announced that show has been renewed for another 30 episodes.

Thanks, Paul -
But the article is from last October and we're already in the middle of Season Six. I guess what it tells us, is that if the ratings remain high, they'll find more ways to drag this out. I think they've solved the mystery but it would cost too much to say so.
You’re correct. I have to admit to not really reading it closely, and I don’t follow the show. I just know that the main industry group here, Screen NS, was making a big deal of it this week. Weird. I guess they’re well behind the times! 🙂
Kevin, I have had my question marks about the show for a long time as well. The one item the team has said is related the iron cross. The one in the dungeon in France and the iron cross on the beach. This seemed odd to me for this reason. The similarity between to two is the bent over fishing hook. (I don't have a better term to use to describe the cross.) That's is my issue. The one thing with the dozens of order of the Knights Templar cross designs over the hundreds of years is the lack of the fish hook. Here is the Wikipedia page about the crosses:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_cross_variants
The one version of the cross I could find with a round top design was Greek in origin. Every other one was traditional cross or with a V end to the three upper edges of the cross.
I didn't just look on this one page but many. The consistency in the cross design would have been important I would think very important to the whole faith.
One more point. When you read about the research over many years on the Templars, there might be over 100 books written. The level of detail about the crusades and the different orders are impressive. So to say that the prison or dungeon and the Oak Island version of the cross are not clearly represented elsewhere by other historians leaves one in doubt.
Maybe I am wrong but my question is very valid Christian crosses that the Knights Templar used.
Deff not a ship repair island. I was born and raised in NS. You can research all you want, but you are deff missing some real life history that did happen all over NS, not just oak island. Example. Track the louisbough treasure from the fortress destroyed by the British:-)
I have watched all seasons of this show and have completed my own detailed research as well. Unfortunately I’m convinced to believe there is no elaborate booby trap system or magnificent engineering marvel as constructed as the pyramids. This island was used for nothing more than ship repairs, agriculture and military camps over its history. It’s likely that smiths cove was dredged out at one point and those wooden structures were used to repair ships or even possibly used as coffer dams for the creation of shellfish farms. But there has NEVER been anything found below regular grade level that indicates treasure. The allure and theories manifested for years are nothing more than fools gold. Yes the island has been visited by many people throughout history and yes it is possible at some point in time a small treasure chest could have been hidden. But NEVER in the history of treasure hunting has there ever been some elaborate underground marvel designed and engineered to protect something of significant value. Especially on an island in Novia Scotia.
I believe there had been military camps on the island in the pass.....
Want to cut to the chase regarding Oak Island? It’s a very simple thing to do
There is historical evidence of the following people visiting or attempting to visit Oak Island or its proximity
Israelites (where do you think Solomon’s gold came from? Could it have been Nova Scotia?)
Probably the Persians (eventually)
Probably the Greeks (eventually)
Romans
Knights Templar
French
British
Spanish (eventually as they scoured America in search of Gold, where did they get that idea from?)
Pirates (of course they wanted the gold)
Mr Ball …. Instantly wealthy ….. Probably through Gold Mining
Searchers (hunting for treasure, what greater treasure than Gold)
What is it about Oak Island that intrigued so many? The answer is extremely simple … it’s actually a bubble buster. What is the one commodity that Nova Scotia is well known for? The answer …. Wait for it….. let’s do it in Oak Island fashion
“Gold on Oak Island” …… “Gold in Nova Scotia”
Yes the big secret years ago was that Nova Scotia was known (the closely held secret) for its Gold ore.
There is most likely no treasure on Oak Island …. However, there is most likely evidence Oak Island (Like other areas of Nova Scotia) was mined for Gold.
Think about it…. All the items which have been discovered, all point to mining operations.
Nova Scotia is well known for its plethora of gold mines. There is the answer for those who want to cut to the chase ….. There is most likely ample evidence of gold shafts which extend by thousands of years.
the remainder of you continue to watch as they dig up the island to finally discover gold mining operations occurred there, for several centuries
I thought the article that was written about the island being used to produce salt was pretty compelling. And enough structures have been found at Smith's Cove to indicate there was a dock for large ships of some sort. I hope the TV rights are lucrative enough to offset the money being spent because I don't see where there's going to be something fantastic found eventually. Previous written here was a story that there was search for gold, I would think they would have found some traces of gold. build a huge Resort and Smith's Cove and call her good.
Too much back referencing to contain my interest as well as the lack of drilling treasure has produced.
I was watched this show for several years but it is getting boring because it continues to repeat and repeat the same information without much new being presented.
I'm not saying there's no treasure on oak island but the real treasure is in the ratings and the money being made as long as the show is on the air. I think the show is designed to continue week after week and never find out whatever is at the bottom of the money pit until the ratings fall and the last episode is scheduled. Anyone agree?
Why do they find things so deep in the ground? 170,200 feet down. How could things get that deep? Some one was down there they even found human bones down there.I think a treasure is down there. The question is where.
Please, just tell us you've found it. The take your time showing us the process of authenticating the artifacts.
I agree about to repeat and repeat, it is agitating that half the hour long show is a repeat of past shows. Show a complete hour of new stuff!
I agree that too much time is wasted going back to past finds. But after all it,s a money making program
The treasure is religious and priceless! The Knights Templar buried the remains of Solomons Temple at Oak Island. This might include the Ark of The Covenant! This has been the reason that so much has gone wrong and people have died. In the Bible, The Ark has turned people into ash and toppled walls. According to the Bible. The evidence that they have recovered suggests that many people over many time periods: Roman, Templar, Spanish, and British have been there wanting this great treasure. The evidence proves that there were battles over it. From Roman spears, to cross bolts, to British and even perhaps American musket balls. I believe that Oak Island was an ancient bank. The Pirates and Privateers deposited money there to keep safe. I believe Samuel Ball was one of the book keepers. But I believe that something that was priceless and religious was buried there by the Templars. I personally believe that it is the Ark of the Covenant. That is why so much equipment goes out. Sir Fransis Bacon wouldn't have dug his treasure 150ft under ground. Whatever they hid at Oak Island was meant to never be found again.
Oh look, a fellow Oak Island researcher who is saying nothing is there, what’s wrong honey, are the brothers stealing your thunder
Agree at the waste of time going over old stuff on each show.
Yeah Yeah Yeah all you guys say and more. Consider all the groups involved and think who is going to benefit most ? Not us dummies who sit and watch this stuff. You know who , just think ! I record this show and then view it in about 10 minutes.
Idea for the boys, put a lid on your big casing and pump air into it. Over pressure the thing and blow bubbles
( even tiny ones ) into the sea. Call a mining company. Quit .
Quit taking advantage of your audience.
LOve Love love.
Me
So we have a few ideas about the island and it's treasure. We believe, if there was treasure on the island it was already found by Samuel Ball. How else does a freed slave, end up on an island with nothing, to all of a sudden/ in a very short amount of time become so wealthy?? Another idea is that the money pit area is a rabbit hole to deceive anyone that is not worthy to find the real location of the treasure. There is the possibility that it is actually somewhere else on the island, if it has not yet been found. One more idea is that whatever is(could be) buried there was buried there not to be found, it could be something very bad and they did not want it found. I can say with absolute positivity that the show, with it's narrator, just drags on and on and on repeating everything from past episodes over and over and over again..........This is the part we hate the most. LOL!
AT THIS POINT WETHER THERE IS OR IS NOT A TREASURE ON OAK ISLAND REALLY DOES NOT MATTER THE HISTORY CHANNEL AND THE LAGINA BROTHERS HAVE TURNED OAK ISLAND INTO REAL TREASURE IN THE FORM OF CASH MONEY AND RATINGS THERES A GOOD CHANCE THE WILL UPEND THAT ISLAND TO ITS CORE DRAG THE SHOW ON UNTIL THEY NOTICE RATINGS DROP. BUT IN A HOLLYWOOD STAND POINT ITS ALREADY A GOLD MINE!!
This is true of many reality shows that want to keep you hooked. If not an ongoing story, the repeat footage after commercials make you nuts.Shows on TLC go over the same stuff so often,I think I must have seen the episode..and then they have the extended footage stuff.
If they ever did find treasure, the news would have it before the show which would be a big spoiler wouldn't it?
I have to agree that if anything incedibly valuable was put there for safekeeping, someone would have handed down info within an organization or trusted people .Only something sacred would be hidden in such a way to prevent its ever being found.
Do they really need a metal detection expert on site? Couldn't anyone scan for things?
Like a straw, when the can was lifted, the earth went back in and a hole was created at the top. Since my trip visiting my cousin in 2002 to 2004 I purchase a wooden OAK ISLAND hand made treasure chest in Lunenburg. I still cherish it to date. I drove there then and YES, I respected the no trespass sign but did take photos from the main land side where there were a couple of mini cannons and a view of a school bus. I am a bus driver myself. Please continue the story telling.
Yep. But I think that those bays were for ship to unload equipment they used to bury their treausure deep in the islands interior and not as close to the water where they are looking I think oak islands treasure if there is any is further inland and there looking in the wrong place
Michael you are the winner that is exactly what happened!!!!!! Been told that the ball family has been compensated to stay quiet about the whole thing too! That is why he became so rich so fast amazing how it took so long for someone to finally figure this whole thing out. So now everyone knows and we can forget about looking for it anymore because they have been looking for something that has already been found long time ago. Funny how people can be fooled into looking for something when are led to believe they will get rich and famous for finding it hahahahahahhaha
As I said before the treasure was already found by Ball so enough already and get the show off and quit waisting everyone's time. You would think before everyone would waste all the time and money they have waisted they would have investigated Balls finances long time ago and figured out he had found it and who he sold it to not very good invesitigative reporting huh ??!!00 oh in case you wondering what ?!0 is it how you've all been taken hook? Line! And sinker 0
THE NARRATION IS TERRIBLE! "Could it be..." 'Is it possible..." Shoot man, it could be and it is possible, and recapping every frigging thing where an hour of "show" ends up with 10 minutes of news is just poor TV, poor producing.
Come on. Get rid of that questioning clown narration, the poorly written "rinse, repeat'' script or you are gonna lose us all.
DVR/FF your show it takes 10 minute to watch. If I miss something, I know you'll show it 8 times next week.
Very interesting to read that the Lagina brothers and Oak Island Tours Inc have now sold their shares in the company....this doesn't sound very good....who would sell their shares in a gold mine if there was undiscovered gold still out there.
I love reading everyone's comments! The show IS tedious and boring. But, I totally agree that the treasure has already been found, in the form of all the riches paid to the team, and all the money made by the HC. Do you notice how the show supposedly leaves you on the edge of your seat with all the "possibilities?" This is so flat and repetitious. Come on folks. Who buries something so valuable at that depth, and protected by such intricate booby traps? If I bury wealth because I'm hiding it or don't want to get caught with it, I'm damn sure going to make it so I can retrieve said wealth without giant machinery and scores of people. It's a scam that started many years ago, and took on a life of it's own. I will admit that I'm just as complicit as everyone else. I still watch sometimes for the comic relief. It's hilarious how anything they find, they make a huge jump in logic as to how it got there. It also cracks me up that no matter what anyone finds, Rick or Marty can be heard to say, "that's very significant!" The whole thing has gotten ridiculous!
It's a load of bollocks,it's a scam
Laginas sold out ...other articles say tobias soldbout
So where is the video tape from 1973 that blankenship took with cameras of tressured cave before a major collapse. This was never revealed on the oak island tv show nor said by blankenship on video live inteeview ...uh dont you think thats significant to viewers ... who has the 1973 videos is big question. History channel is milking this show bc their highest rated show...so where is video of the reported gold..chests and bodies?? Or is somebody a good liar mainly blackenship?
The real treasure of Oak Island is the friendships you make along the way. (that was sarcasm in case you missed it)
Enjoyed archeology of proving Who we are & our true HISTORY !
I’ve seen more interesting stories, both treasure finds and more, in compact 5 minute segments on other programs. How thisnis am emtore series boggles the mind. And the fact that they find tiny scraps of paper and nails are thing you will find all over the world in every square inch of it. Humans have been everywhere for millions of years why would that be surprising. This show is the stupidest series idea I’ve ever seen in my life and just shows how far down the drain the Hostoru channel has flushed.
.... Stupidest
I think I went to Jr high School with these too brothers?
Its It's no tr an iron cross, its lead.
yes I know that the narrator repeats but this is probably due to the resume and interest that new people that it is the first time they see the show can understand what is happening
I am very interested in this program even if I am a woman in the sixty of age lol.I remember when I was a kid, my father was reading an article in the digest reader and he was talking about the treasure of oak island. Now he is dead but it has sharpened my interest to see if the 40 year old article passes may be true
It keeps me busy doing research on the subject but I think Rick and Marty Lagina do not look in the right place and they have missed several things that I would have checked before looking elsewhere and continue
(google translator,i speak french)
there is something else too.
I watch several series that is related to treasures.
They almost all have the same thing = triangle, cross, water flowing underground, traps, etc.
They all think the same thing, treasure first but they can find alliance ark too.
I watch the Oak Island show and the other one that gives a lot more information (digging) and I search the shows of 2017 and 2018 to watch what I missed. It's like I'm part of it.
is an educational program for people who like to explore, find solutions and do research on the subject.
would not be interesting if it only lasted a season or 2 or 3. Long term and this show is very well built It could last forever and they will always find something new. That's why I'm interested in the program
The only thing that annoys me in the program is the commercials lol
I believe Samuel Ball found a portion of gold loot of an old pirates cash. That would explain his sudden new found wealth on such as remote island. I am also a beliver that the money pit is just that, a pit! I feel like it is a distraction and diversion to another great find buried somewhere on the Island or at least once was buried on Oak Island. I strongly feel the treasure has already been found by previous searchers and relocated to a more secure location. Also the Laginas need to hire a team of men to increase there search area Vs just a small crew so they can finally put this mystery to bed!!
1 hour each week for:
20 minutes of commercials
20 minutes of repeating the past over and over
15 minutes of fluff
5 minutes of new content
Oh, and I think we know their names by now.
Brit accent gives illusion of authority...fake coins
AL CAPONES VAULT ALL OVER AGAIN ..ALL THEY FOUND WAS A EMPTY SODA BOTTLE THERE.PROBABLY US GOVT TOOK TREASURE ALREADY FROM UNDERGEOUND AND LEFT SITE UNSTABLE.BEST TIME TO TUNNEL IS WINTER
Lollll... love it.
The 7th person who needed to die has died. It was Dan Blankenship. Now maybe they can actually get to work. Shame on the Lagina brothers.
Thought of that myself, but he didn't die in an accident attempting to retrieve the nonexistent treasure. I'm not sure that this would count in the Curse. Rest in Peace, Dan.
if it is true that they have found something that would be ideal that they tell us otherwise it is laughter of the viewers who take this seriously
and if it has nothing to do with Samuel Ball or the Knight Templar, they miss a few things
I'm sure there are a few things, not one, but many treasures, no matter how small, on this island
and it would be tragic if all these men died for nothing because they believed in that too
I'm sure they would say ok, we found some things but we keep going because we're looking for treasure
and all this story about the curse would fall to the water because that would mean that all the tourists who visit Oak Island think that all this is true .. well ... no, that would be wrong
( Four hours documentary series called
Buried: Knights Templar and the Holy Grail)
some of them , did, survive and went to Canada , probably at Oak Island.
Every viewer of this show has been hoodwinked, bamboozled, scammed,BSed, whatever you wanna call it. Watched ONE episode and wrote it off as an hour of my life I'll NEVER get back
Only thing missing is Geraldo
Treasure or no treasure, it's fun entertainment. "Or, perhaps, could it be…."
Let's get it!
Looking for a team to find forest fenns treasure? The man's still alive, and I'm sure he would be happy that we are broadcasting our hunt
I find it interesting that so many of the commentors complaining about this show don't just stop watching and stop commenting. Instead they seem to continue wanting to spout their "expert" knowledge. Most did not even pay attention enough to know that iron is not lead. Numbers show the dozen or so people who normally post to this site are is the small minority compared to the numbers viewing the show.
I have basically given up on this show. They haven't found the treasure and what they are finding is more indicative of a ship repair facility than it is of an elaborate treasure vault. Yes, the show has lots of viewer, because if it didn't, it would be cancelled... but that doesn't mean there is any treasure there.
Ship repair facility theory feels good. Also, Box drains - if "dyed water" appears in Smiths Cove then it would suggest the flow is "downhill", i.e. to the cove and not from it - potentially a system for delivering fresh water to be barrelled and transferred to ships? Flooding of searcher tunnels could be a by-product of breaching this drainage system and not booby-trapping.
The dye was "pumped" giving positive pressure so it can easily flow uphill and is not indicative of directional flow.
The slipway doesn't seem big enough to accommodate a larger ship it it was to repair a ship; loading and unloading is another matter.
The salt production theory isn't very sound because the weather in NS is not conducive to salt production.
From the dating of the wood in the cove, the one thing that is obvious is that something happened there. Another is that it was visited at various times by various groups. The larger question still remains; what was the original purpose of deposits on Oak Island?
Keep doing the show. but please stop the needless repetition, you're causing your viewers to curse Oak Island.
If, in fact, they were on the verge of discovering a "elaborate booby trap system", they uncovered enough that should have sent them into a ""EXCITING DIGGING FRENZY"".
But we all know this has never happened. Instead they STOPPED DIGGING TOO MANY TIMES.
Which reads; not one of them believe there is anything worth value, especially in the swamp.
This is the best example of "Dragging On" I've ever seen in a reality show.
Deanna Stone said...
If they thought they on the verge of uncovering an "Elaborate Booby Trap System" they would have went into an "EXCITING DIGGING FRENZY". That has never happened.
In fact, they "STOP DIGGING SO OFTEN", it reads; not one of them believe there is anything worth value anywhere. Especially in the swamp.
This is the perfect example of "Dragging On" I've ever seen on any reality show.
This guy they have is exceedingly good at what he does. He has found more "treasure" with his metal detector than any of their high dollar drilling.
meanwhile Mel Fisher pulls up millions in gold. courtroom drama with greedy govts wanting it all. bu no hit tv show. go figure.
i was so disappointed because on of those advertising slide shows announced "Oak Island mystery solved." yeah, right.
adults, 3 year old kids, both the same. can't leave anything alone. if and a big if anything was buried on that island, it was dug up in the out years when humans that saw it buried were still alive.
A half wit could figure out that if all the technically sophisticated imagery systems and ground sonar and simply power digging tools of today haven't found a doubloon, there ain't one to be found.
now on to beales gold......as if the ex-confederates never snuck back and repatriated that gold to better use than a fable of a lost wagon.
With the unfortunate passage of Dan Blankenship doesn't that just now complete the legend of oak island? Also in season finale he was present so that would mean they had finished the season when he passed. That would mean the curse has been lifted maybe they find something season seven.
In no way do I in any way mean any disrespect to him family ect. but I thought same thing with fred (but he wasn't active in search just gave access) where as Dan help with knowledge and insights and in earlier season was on site more often. I pray I'm as active in my 80's as he was. May he rest in peace and however let the mystery be slowed in his honor.
Soo...watching 3 episodes was enough. No grid pattern searching. Completely random guessing with a metal detector.wow......storms, time, other hunters would have removed a lot of surface evidence. So, the random guess that turns up a muddy coin? More like a planted coin. Scuba in a hole and what looks like a tow fish of sorts dropped into a 6" access hole, requiring expert interpretation. Gee, how much would it have cost to put a GoPro with a bunch of lights n that hole? So dumb. Clearly all these experts weren't capable of figuring out that often the simplest solution is the best one. Sadly people are gullible enough to support the viewing of this tripe. And instead of TV we can learn from we have this fringe material promoted by scam artists on what was supposed to be a history channel. Nice work! Go back to school. Read a book. Get outside. Nothing to see here.
So, you have it all figured out after watching 3 shows? Their research has been exhaustive over the years they have been there. You can doubt whether or not there's a treasure there but their search methods are based on science. For someone who promotes reading books you dont sound very smart.
Millions of treasure has been found by the advertisers. The purpose of show is to sell advertising. No mystery to that.
OMG....more coma-inducing repetition of old facts. The show is tedious, boring, and frustrating at best....abest....and the last season the episodes were broadcast out of sequence. That was the last straw for me. I wish the remaining partners good luck in their search.
Was so bored watching that show. Most of the show was taken up by repeat footage (almost made me snore). Another good portion was taken up by narrator constantly naming and renaming all the regulars when they meet. Then there are the "magic words". i.e....cross, coins, etc. The things that make the guy emphasize the word when he says it. "CROSS!" I say when you find it, let me know. I'll be snoring in the corner.
As someone that has a lot of experience in underground mining! I don't understand
Why would you tunnel down where you think the treasure is at.Taking a big chance on
destroying the treasure your looking for. Or losing it,forever!
what about drilling under the center of the cross?
First your facts are flawed from the get go. It wasn't an "iron" cross as you say, it was lead which is must rarer than iron and much easier to pinpoint origin and time frame. Are the Latinas searching in vain? Maybe? Are they doing something many of us dreamed of doing as a child, searching for pirate treasure?yes! I give them credit for doing a very thorough investigation. We cannot say there is nothing on that island, things have been found already. Obviously something has happened on that island. I believe alot more than just a "boat repair" dock. How do you explain the human remains? The book binding? The coins and jewels? I just want to see them continue, I enjoy the show and the thrill of the hunt. So yeah I will keep watching and wishing them the best!
I can't watch it anymore; it's just too much stupid in one place.
They just dug two rocks out of the swamp, and decided they were part of a "road" because they're flat on one side.
They discovered these "cobblestones" while investigating an "underwater anomoly" which, they're convinced, suggest someone buried a ship fifty-five feet below the swamp.
I haven't heard anyone ask, "Why the *#@$ would ANYONE bury an ENTIRE *#@$€&% SHIP under a swamp???"
I haven't heard anyone suggest, "At some point during the last 224 years, the "artifacts" we've found, such as the garnets, the buttons and the cross, just MIGHT have been (were likely) blown ashore by one or more of the many STORMS that ravage the island every year."
My father used to tell me, "If you're going to be stupid, you have to expect to pay for it." Well, it's their money, and they can stupid it all away if they want to, but that much stupid concentrated on one little island is more than I can stand.
I'm changing the channel to watch SpongeBob, where a sqirrel lives in an underwater dome, a sponge cooks burgers in a restaurant owned by a crab whose daughter is a whale, and they build campfires underwater. It's just as stupid as the "Oak Island Mystery," but at least it's make-believe stupid. The stupid currently contained on Oak Island should be spread evenly over the state of Montana, where it can be properly diluted and rendered harmless.
My apologies to fans of the show; if you can still take it, enjoy it with my blessing. In my opinion, however, The Curse of Oak Island has become this decade's Seinfeld - a show about NOTHING.
Nah, he drops items down his pant leg (from a hole in his pocket) when nobody is looking, then exclaims "Look what I found!"
How else to explain his 100% success rate in finding stuff (and always within 1 minute of looking) when others have failed to find anything for years?
The whole thing is a scam. Sadly, I am embarrased to admit that I keep watching the show anyway, like a car wreck that you can't look away from.
i cant understand the whole logistics of anybody digging a hole that deep so many years ago with basic tools as per the money pit and on such a bleak place as oak island where did they get their food from how many men would you need to dig a hole that deep and shore it up from the sides to stop it collapsing even now the team have to abide by the seasons
i cant understand the whole logistics of the money pit if people of that era had decided to dig a 160 foot hole the shoring of the sides would be a major problem they would have had basic tools and a time period limited by weather and the seasons and how did they feed themselves oak island doesnt seem to have any animals or other food sources ive seen id likesomebody to estimate the manpower andtime it would take to dig a hole that deep and hide a large wooden box at the bottom and then fillit all in without it collapsing or flooding no disrespect to knights templar fans but i dont think they han the modern day equivelant of the jcb digger or bulldozer
