Bernie Sanders and UFOs

Well, here we are again. Another presidential election season (which are becoming an everlasting event) and another candidate promising to reveal what the US government has in the way of UFO evidence. This seems to be one of the talking
points that some of the candidates embrace as a way of gathering a few more voters.

This time it’s Bernie Sanders who is pandering to the UFO vote. The exchange between Sanders and Joe Rogan aired on the Joe Rogan Experience radio show just a few days ago.

“If you got into the office and you found out something about aliens, if you found out something about UFOs, would you let us know?” Rogan asked Sanders...
“Well I tell you, my wife would demand that I let you know,” Sanders laughingly replied.
“Is your wife a UFO nut?” Rogan asked in response.
“No, she’s not a UFO nut. She goes, 'Bernie, what is going on, do you know? Do you have any access?’ ” Sanders said.
“And you don’t have any access?” Rogan asked.
“I don’t,” Sanders laughed. “Honestly, I don’t.”
“You’ll let us know though?” Rogan asked.
 “Alright, I’ll be on the show, we’ll announce it on the show. How’s that?” Sanders said.
You can see a little more about this here:

I really don’t have to say that we’ve been here before. Hillary Clinton made something of the same promise during her presidential run. John Podesta, who was chief of staff in the Bill Clinton administration, a counselor to Barack Obama, and the chairman for the campaign of Hillary Clinton, has had a long interest in the topic. You would think, given his connections to various former presidents he would have learned something about UFOs. You would think that he would have told what he knew, if there was anything to tell… unless what he learned was highly classified.

And no, I haven’t forgotten about Jimmy Carter, who had a UFO sighting he reported to NICAP (which, might have been Venus, but that fact is irrelevant here). He too, had said he was interested in learning the truth, but if he did, he didn’t share it with the rest of us.

The point here is that even if Bernie Sanders is elected, and even if he learned that aliens have been visiting Earth for decades, I don’t believe he would tell us about it, regardless of promises made. As the skeptics will tell us, there is nothing to reveal. And as the believers will tell, the truth is so shocking, that it simply can’t be made public.

Responding to a question about extraterrestrial life is apparently a change in direction for Sanders — Daymond Steer, a reporter for the Conway Daily Sun newspaper in New Hampshire who has for years asked presidential candidates about releasing records related to aliens, wrote in 2016 that Sanders “had no interest in the UFO question and gave me a flippant response.”

As presidential candidates go, Democrats tend to be the most likely to claim such things. But so have Republicans. Even Reagan claimed to have seen a UFO in 1974 while flying over California. (1)

Like Sanders, Jimmy Carter and both Clintons said they would release UFO information if elected. Neither ever did, even though they both became presidents.

However they did try, only to discover the US National Security Act prevents such information be publicly released even if UFOs can’t be explained by extraterrestrial contact.

George W. Bush stated in July 2000, while campaigning in Arkansas, that it would be Dick Cheney's first White House job to get the answer to the UFO mystery. Cheney had served as Secretary of Defense from 1989 to 1993 under President George H. Bush.

Night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel has persistently asked former presidents Obama, Clinton, and Bush (Jr) about UFOs only to confirm all of them know something, but won’t tell the American public. (2)

That doesn’t mean they know UFOs are extraterrestrial. It just means they know something and that it still remains classified.

Even President Truman admitted flying saucers were a common event during his administration. And when asked what he knew about UFOs former CIA Director and President George H. Bush said, “I know some. I know a fair amount.”

His Vice President, Dick Cheney, was also asked and in typical style he angrily replied, “Well, if I had been briefed on it, I'm sure it was probably classified and I couldn't talk about it.”(3)

Will we ever know? Probably not. If extraterrestrial life exists, and there’s no definitive proof yet that it does, it’s more likely science will answer the question, not some politician.

The MJ12 notion and presumed Presidential awareness, assumed to be so by many ufo folks, has fueled eager expectations in them for a conclusive disclosure from a political authority and SOON.

But, I think you are right...scientists, academics and journalists will be the slow revealers of what is and has been going on (which does appear to be ET visitation)
Mike Jamieson, not Mrs Claus (which i have tried to change, lol)

It seems a reasonable proposition the US government knows the answer to the UFO enigma regardless of what that answer might be; they are in the bet position to know because of the resources they have. If the answer is in fact ET, I don't buy into the idea that revealing ET exists would cause some type of worldwide panic. Some people would panic, that's for sure, but overall I think things would remain pretty much the same. So if they know, and the panic scenario is bogus, why not tell us? My best guess is while the government knows ET is here, they're not sure why they're here, or what their ultimate intentions are...

The public will never be told directly the truth about UFOs that certain people in our
government have access to. Serious UFO researchers such as Robert Hastings have as much
truth as our government is unwilling to officially confirm. Politicians who have access
will either joke about it or treat the public like stupid idiots. Should any President,
past or future give an intelligent answer on the subject, most people would not believe
what is told. Unless or until there is a full and complete disclosure that both answers
questions and provides proof for those answers, what any politician says is meaningless.
One hopes that the reasons behind the secrecy are for the benefit of mankind, sadly, most
people are far to jaded to believe that, and with good reason. Hope I am someday proven
wrong.

For some reason you and other skeptics and debunkers fail to accept the Will to Believe.

Your closed minds disallow you from acknowledging the truth produced by the evidence in such cases as the Roswell crash (nonterrestrial debris 1947), the Lonnie Zamora encounter (Socorro, New Mexico April 1964), the Travis Walton abduction (Arizona 1975), the Allagash abductions (Maine 1976), the Rendlesham Forest encounters (multiple nights in Suffolk, United Kingdom December 1980), and the Ariel School encounter (Zimbabwe 1994), among others.

Upon examination of evidence such as this, the truth of the existence of extraterrestrial life has been revealed. Politicians, scientists, and the close-minded need to catch up.

Holy Shit !!!! I've seen unidentified flying objects !! Some few of those I still honestly wonder what the hell it was I saw, even with my well-practised skepticism. Although when one practices skepticism, they are only using that critical, truth-finding resource within their brain. The very strangest i've seen was a symbol made of fire high in the sky above a desert town I used to work in, in Western Australia. I had seen military jets above that town before, I had seen advertising craft doing their work. BUT STILL, there was little if any indication that it may have been an inter-stellar, alien space-craft.

@Clarence:

Yes, the government has the answers. They're keep secret partly to avoid an adverse psychological reaction but there's more to it than that....As for the government not knowing ET intentions...that's a widespread view, encouraged by the powers that be. But for a different take see THE ALIEN PLAN FOR EARTH.

@couldbebetter:

I think the full truth will be known someday but probably not in the lifetime of most people here. Maybe 2050-2100...The aforementioned tome goes into the reasons for the secrecy. It's just a POD work, because no standard trade publisher will touch something that controversial.

@John Steiger:

Agree 100% about the reality of advanced ETs. Unfortunately publicly known evidence is inadequate to induce the public and politicians to take the subject very seriously. That'll change I'm sure but only under radically different circumstances of the future.
